Be The Reason Someone Believes In God’s Goodness

We are called on this earth to be disciples of Christ and show people Who he is. I can’t wrap my head around there being people in this world who don’t know who Christ is or who don’t get the opportunity to get to know Him. The more you understand God’s goodness, the more you can share with people and spread His word. I know we serve a God who is full of goodness. King David said, “I certainly believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord” Psalm 27: 13-14.

This life is a vapor and I want to take any opportunity I get to share who He is because he changes people’s lives in the best way possible. I want to give you 5 principles of discipleship that I have held close to my heart.

You may ask what is discipleship? Being a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ means to learn from Him, stay close to Him, and spread the good news about Him. We have a purpose here on earth and the Bible gives us a clear direction for that on how to live like followers of Him.

  1. A disciple lives a life of surrender to God.
  2. A disciple lives their life in sharp contrast with the world.
  3. A disciple serves others in love.
  4. A disciple supernaturally responds to evil with good.

These qualities can be present wherever you go in life. The point is that a disciple’s life is not his or her own. You have to fully commit to the ways of God and to fulfilling His purpose in their lives. As disciples of Jesus, we are taught to deny ourselves. It’s a reminder that our lives are not about our personal agendas or what we think we need. Instead, we take up our crosses, and believe that whatever God has for is the very best. The last thing I want to leave you with so you can go be a disciple of Christ and show people God’s goodness is that you can’t walk on water if you don’t get out of the boat.

“I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or saddles; and do not greet anyone on the road.” (Luke 10: 3-4)

Here Jesus is asking a group of followers to head and share the Gospel. But in a way that requires total trust and reliance on Him. He tells them to go ahead and leave behind their bags and money. And not only did he watch over them and take care of them, but the disciples had a powerful experience that strengthened their faith even more. Just as he asked this group of followers years ago, he asks us today to do the exact thing. To be a disciple and share Gods goodness, it will take dropping earthy things you value for things that are far more worthy.

He wants to do great things in you and through you, today. Have the radical faith he calls us to have and live for His Kingdom.
